From Certification, select Set up programs, and click New
Before you create a new program, define the program type. The Certification module supports three types of programs:
■ Standard - A standard program has no maintenance or rotating period; the student is required to complete only an initial set of requirements to become certified.
■ Maintenance - A maintenance program has an initial set of requirements for certification and a separate set of requirements to maintain the certification. The maintenance portion of the program begins only when the student completes all the initial program requirements. This can be automatic if the appropriate option is enabled (see To create the maintenance requirements for a program). To manually enroll the student in the maintenance program, click Rollover on the Register a student by program window when the student has completed the initial requirements.
■ Rotating - A rotating program does not have a set of initial requirements, but requires a student to complete a set of requirements repeatedly over a specific period to be certified.
Note: You must select one of these options before you go to the Set up programs window and define the program. After you have identified the program type and entered program information on the Set up programs window, you cannot go back and edit the program type.
